Janina Hedström is a Master's student in architecture at Aalto University, currently working on her Master's thesis about community re-engagement with local building materials. Janina's interest in architectural locality, natural materials and community participation has led her to a collaboration with the Building and Road Reasearch Institute (BRRI) in Kumasi, Ghana. Together with BRRI she is investigating in affordable bamboo construction methods for a school building project through local participation. Janina is a communications assistant for Aalto WiTLAB.
