Sustainability Networks

Baltic University Programme (BUP)

BUP is an innovative network of universities and other institutions of higher learning in the Baltic Sea Region. BUP concentrates on questions related to sustainable development, environmental protection and democracy. BUP enhances higher education by arranging international university courses and conferences for both students and teachers. Uppsala University coordinates the BUP network. BUP Finland at Åbo Akademi University is one of three BUP Associate Secretariats and the national center in Finland. (ENG)

Climate Leadership Coalition (CLC)

CLC is a network of companies, research organizations and cities who strive to be among the leaders of their respective fields in terms of climate ambition. CLC together with partners strives to make a significant positive climate impact through business solutions. (ENG, FIN)

Forum for sustainable development in higher education in Finland

Keke Forum aims to enhance sustainable development in higher education in Finland. Currently more than 200 people representing most Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences are a part of the network. One can participate in the network by joining the mail list and meetings. Keke Forum meetings concentrate on presenting local, national and international activities and practices in sustainability issues. (ENG, FIN, SWE)

Nordic Sustainable Campus Network

NSCN is targeted at sustainability/environmental staff working in the Nordic higher education institutions – both in administration and teaching. NSCN was established in 2012 to strengthen the sustainability efforts already in action in the Nordic higher education institutions. (ENG)

UniPID - Finnish University Partnership for International Development

UniPID is a network of Finnish universities to support the interdisciplinary studies and research, as well as societal impact and partnerships of universities related to global sustainable development.

Note also within UniPID the FinCEAL Plus BRIDGES project (2019-2020) that supports the development of partnerships and collaborative research activities between the Finnish research community and those in Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean.

Ympäristöjohtamisen yhdistys – YJY

YJY yhdistää vastuullisuudesta ja ympäristöjohtamisesta kiinnostuneet sekä alan ammattilaiset. YJYn tavoitteena on edistää ympäristöjohtamista Suomessa erityisesti jäsentensä ammattitaitoa ja verkostoitumista kehittämällä. Toimintamme keskiössä ovat erilaiset jäsentilaisuudet. Järjestämme jäsenillemme vuosittain erilaisia yritysvierailuja, seminaareja ja keskustelutilaisuuksia ympäristöjohtamiseen liittyen.

EIT Climate-KIC

EIT Climate-KIC works on transformative, systemic innovation that involves many connected innovations developing in parallel to trigger a shift in the system. The idea is to choose a number of different projects intervening on particular systems or impact areas and connect them up to accelerate the overall speed of learning and transformation. By ensuring project diversity EIT Climate-KIC maximizes the possibility of discovering how to catalyze change through innovation.

Aalto Global Impact (AGI)

AGI promotes and facilitates Aalto University´s research and educational programmes for societal impact globally. This is achieved by facilitating and executing global sustainability projects in collaboration with master’s programmes; mobilizing funding for research and innovation projects; and by engaging academic and societal stakeholders. Ympäristötiedon Foorumi

YTF välittää viimeisintä tutkimustietoa päätöksenteon agendalla olevista aiheista sekä nostaa uusia, vielä marginaalisia ympäristökysymyksiä julkiseen keskusteluun. YTF:n kohderyhmänä ovat erityisesti päätöksentekijät, mutta YTF:n toiminta on avointa kaikille ympäristötutkimuksesta kiinnostuneille. YTF:n tärkein toimintamuoto on järjestää korkeatasoisia tilaisuuksia, joissa tutkijat ja päätöksentekijät saavat mahdollisuuden vuoropuheluun. Lisäksi YTF julkaisee Puheenvuoroja-sarjaa, jossa kerätään ja tiivistetään tutkimusta tietyn ympäristöteeman ympäriltä. (FIN)

Academic Engineers and Architects in Finland TEK is a professional and labour market organisation. TEK negotiates collective agreements in private and public sectors on behalf of its members. TEME

Trade Union for Theatre and Media Finland (Teme) is a cultural organization and a trade union. The members of the unions are professionals, students, freelancers and self-employed persons in the fields of theatre, dance, film and TV production. Teme is a corporation consisting of seven separate unions:
