Studying in the Master’s Programme in Business Analytics gives students a unique combination of skills in leadership, business, and technology. Programme graduates are future leaders of the digital and sustainable era. The programme provides students with in-depth knowledge about data-based decision-making and analytics and allows them to specialise in different business domains.

Tuition fees and scholarships

Aalto University’s tuition fee for master’s programmes taught in English is 15 000 euros per academic year. Tuition fees apply to citizens of countries other than those of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland.

Aalto University has a scholarship programme to support non-EU/EEA citizens who study in a fee-charging degree programme. The scholarship may cover 100% or 50% of the tuition fee.

Structure of studies

Overall, the Business Analytics Programme comprises a total of 120 ECTS credits. The two-year programme consists of:

  • Business Analytics studies including analytics, programming, and data management (60 ECTS), includes Master's Thesis (30 ECTS)
  • Specialisation in your chosen business domain (30 ECTS)
  • Electives (30 ECTS) which can include exchange studies or internship

Admission dates

The admissions to Master's programmes at Aalto University in the field of Business and Economics are organised once a year. The application period for studies starting in autumn 2023 is from 1 December 2022 to 2 January 2023.

Here are the most important dates to remember:

  • 1 December 2022 – Application period begins and online application system opens
  • 2 January 2023 – Application period ends and the online application system closes
  • 29 March 2023 – Admission results are published at the earliest
  • 20 April 2023 – Deadline for accepting the offered study place

To be considered for admission the applicant must have completed at least 18 ECTS credits of studies that give ability to start the advanced studies in the programme. The credits completed in the following subjects, or subjects that the Aalto University School of Business considers to be corresponding, may be considered: Analytics, Management Science, Information Systems Science, Computer Science, Business Mathematics and Statistics. Theses or internships cannot be included in these credits. The previous credits in the core area of the programme giving the ability to start the advanced studies are assessed by a representative of the programme.
