The Archive is responsible for the long-term preservation, digitization, and data service for documents as well as photo and object materials that are to be stored permanently or for a long period of time (more than ten years) and for issuing instructions on archiving procedures.

The Aalto University Archive is an archive that is open to all researchers. The task of the Archive Services is the preservation of the university's document heritage and the promotion of research that is based on it. The Otaniemi Campus Archives includes the archives of Aalto University, the Helsinki School of Economics (HSE), the University of Art and Design Helsinki (TaiK) and the Helsinki University of Technology (TKK) and their predecessors, as well as numerous private archives linked with the remits of the schools.

Learn about the collections in the Aalto University Archive on the VRC + archives pages.

Moving somewhere?

The Archive also offers assistance in moving preparations for units and individual employees. Especially with complete units it is desirable that those responsible for moving would contact the archive immediately upon learning of an impending move. The archive helps both with respect to individual offices and shared storage areas to define what needs to be preserved and what can be disposed of without worry. In addition we offer help in organising and protecting collections to be archived. Contact us at [email protected]
