School of Science

SCI Diversity Fund

Cash support for projects promoting diversity, inclusion and equality.

The School of Science is funding projects that foster and encourage diversity, inclusivity and equality. We are offering grants of up to €5,000 for innovative ideas to help us achieve these goals, both inside and outside the Aalto Community.

Our shared goal is to have a good atmosphere for study and work at the university. Aalto University wants to offer a working environment in which employees and students of different genders, tasks and backgrounds are treated equally. The obligation to promote equality and equal treatment applies to all members of the university community.

We would be keen to support networks, seminar series, creative projects, mentorship schemes, public events, and work with schools or social clubs. The application form can be found here [link to webpropol]. The deadline for applications for summer term 2020 is 5pm 27th March 2020. More rules and information can be found below.

Rules and conditions

  • All projects must abide by Aalto’s code of conduct

  • Applications will be judged by a subcommittee of the School of Science Equality and Quality Group and final decisions will be approved by the Dean.
  • The school of science communications team will assist in promoting the project, but the main responsibility from promotion remains with the project managers.
