Congratulations! You have just been admitted to an international joint Master’s programme at Aalto University.

Your application made an impression on us and we would like to warmly welcome you as a member of the Aalto community. New student checklist
Please, take a good look to go over the following steps. You find detailed information on each in the guide for New Students in international joint Master's programmes.
- Accept your admission offer
You will receive an e-mail with personal link to studyinfo.fi portal soon after receiving your Letter of Admission. Click the link and follow the instructions to accept the admission offer.
Please accept your admission offer by the corresponding deadline to your programme:
- within 14 days (3:00 pm, GMT +3) if you have been admitted to EIT Urban Mobility, EIT Manufacturing, or European Mining Course.
- by 20 April 2023 (3:00 pm, GMT +3) or within 30 days of receiving the message from Studyinfo if you have been admitted to EIT InnoEnergy SELECT, or to Nordic Master programmes in Cold Climate Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Innovative Sustainable Energy Engineering or Maritime Engineering.
If you were admitted conditionally due to incomplete Bachelor degree (see your Letter of Admission), you must finish your degree and graduate by 31 July 2023.
Send hard copies of your degree certificate and transcript to the Student Services of School of Engineering (contact information below). We must receive them by 17 August at 15:00 (GMT+3) or your admission will be cancelled.
If you have already graduated, and sent your degree documents by 26 May if your programme so requests (see point 2 below), you don't have to do this separately before 17 August.
- Submit hard copies of your application documents (ONLY if applicable)
Students in Nordic Master ISEE, Nordic Master Maritime Engineering, and European Mining Course
Please revise your Letter of Admission to find out if you are admitted conditionally until you submit certified (attested) hard copies of your application documents.
If you are required to submit the certified (attested) copies, please send the hard copies of these documents to Student Services of School of Engineering (contact information below) by mail or courier service. Read carefully and follow the instructions here.
We must receive the documents by 26 May 2023 at 15:00, GMT +3. In the programmes requesting hard copies of documents, conditionally granted right to study will be cancelled if the certified documents, or documents according to the country-specific document requirements, are not received in the required manner by the deadline.
Students in Nordic Master Cold Climate Engineering and Environmental Engineering

Students in EIT programmes
You are not required to submit hard copies of documents to Aalto.
- Pay the participation / programme / tuition fee of your programme (if applicable)
- Apply for Residence Permit (non-EU/non-EEA Citizens) or register your residence (EU/EEA Citizens)
- Enrol for the academic year 2023-2024 at Aalto University
To ensure that your student status is valid from the beginning of academic year (1 August) you should enrol no later than 30 July 2023 or sooner, if possible. Enrolling as attending is also a precondition for using any Aalto services, getting a student number, and registering for courses. The deadline to enroll is 1 September 2023.
Students liable for tuition fees in Nordic Master programmes and European Mining Course
Due to additional regulations concerning tuition fees, students with a tuition fee liability must first pay their tuition fee before enrolling in My Studyinfo.
Students admitted to other programmes
We highly recommend to pay any possible participation fees to the programme before enrolling at Aalto. Your annual enrolment is conditional until we have verified your payment. Aalto University reserves the right to cancel your enrolment if you have not paid the joint programme fee by the end of the enrolment period (1 September 2023).
Conditionally admitted students
If your admission offer is conditional due to missing hard copy documents or incomplete Bachelor degree, you can only enrol at the university after the condition has been fulfilled and the admission is not conditional anymore. Please refer to your Letter of Admission to check if you have been admitted conditionally. Organize your travel to Finland
- Activate your Aalto IT account
You can activate your Aalto user account in July at the earliest, after you have enrolled for the academic year and received an activation email for your Aalto user account.
- Complete Aalto Pre-Orientation 2023-2024 online (the link to the material will be provided later; access requires activation of your Aalto user account).
- Prepare to start your studies with orientation on week 35 (the week beginning on 28 August).
Communication before the orientation in the autumn
Follow your email! We will send you newsletters during the spring and the summer to remind you of important matters and to provide you with more information about the orientation programme and the start of studies. You will be assigned a peer-student tutor, who will contact you during the summer. Please remember to notify us if you change your email address. In the meantime, if you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
