POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT (3 years)
The Department of Management Studies of Aalto University School of Business seeks applications for a three-year position as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Organization and Management, starting between 1st of October 2019 and January 1st, 2020.
The positions are within the Organizations and Management discipline in the Department of Management Studies at Aalto University School of Business. The department comprises several very competitive groups of strategy, human resource management, organizational behavior, sustainability management and organization theory researchers who publish in leading management journals such as AMJ, AMR, ASQ, JAP and SMJ, among others. Moreover, the department has a lively, international research community with numerous doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers from several countries. The postdoctoral researcher positions is intended to allow the chosen researchers to pursue their research agenda and to develop personal competencies. We expect the candidates to conduct high quality research and aim to publish in the best international journals broadly in the area of Organization and Management. The position is associated with a low teaching load; that is, one course per year. The postdoc is expected to teach on an undergraduate course in Human Resource Management. Therefore, expertise in HRM is considered a strong merit. In addition, the positions include master’s thesis supervision and an opportunity to be involved in doctoral training.
We look for scholars who are completing, or have completed within the past four years, their doctoral studies in a relevant field of study. The applicants should have demonstrated the ability to conduct research independently, to publish in high-quality scholarly journals and to teach competently. The positions require fluent skills in the English language. Additional language skills are a merit. The Post-doctoral researcher is required to be in residence for the duration of the appointment.
The postdoctoral scholar will be a member in a group of highly motivated and productive scholars, in one of the leading management departments in Europe. Salary is approximately 50.000 euros per annum. Aalto University also provides health care and retirement benefits.
