Master’s thesis position in Developing High-power High-Frequency Wireless Power Charging Systems

Aalto  University and Vensum Power have a joint research project in which new high-power high-frequency wireless power charging solutions are developed at concept level. We seek MSc graduate students for this interesting challenge.

Job description
Work involves finite-element simulations for novel air-core structures, power conversion system simulations and practical system development and testing work in the lab.

Research group
The project will involve close interaction with Vensum Power and the research group at Aalto University with an excellent environment for developing the project.

Professor Sergei Tretyakov leads the Theoretical and Applied Electromagnetics of Complex Media group, which works on electromagnetic theory, analytical modelling, theory and design of composite electromagnetic materials, including metamaterials, electromagnetic computations and measurements. Information about the group can be found at
http://meta.aalto.fi/ .

Vensum technology allows the use of high frequencies for power converters with high powers making the converters small and efficient. More information https://www.vensum.com/.

Your experience and skills
If you have a good knowledge in electromagnetics and/or power electronics, and if you are excited about learning latest scientific advancements in wireless charging, this will be an ideal opportunity for you.  The experience with finite-element simulation tools (e.g. COMSOL, Ansys Maxwell) will be advantageous for this position.

How to apply
Please submit your application through our recruiting system by using the "Apply now!" link below. Please include the following documents in English:
• Course transcripts of master’s studies
• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Application letter (required for those who study outside Aalto, optional for those who study in Aalto)
