Head of Radical Creativity

to an influential and multi-faceted role in supporting a significant change initiative at the University.

Your goals

We at Aalto University aim to build an outstanding creative community for new thinking by developing a culture of radical creativity. It allows and supports creative questioning and “not-knowing”, and celebrates learning from exploration, experimentation and failure. Creative approaches at Aalto provide diverse perspectives and skills to tackle topical challenges in a radically new way.

Our outstanding creative community is enhanced by cross- and transdisciplinary collaboration as well as imaginative and experimental activities. They encourage new thinking and innovations that are both original and of value. Your role will be central in facilitating and enabling this development.

In this new role, you get to give your ideas and contribution to the development of the University strategy and its implementation in

  • coordinating the long-term planning of the Radical Creativity and its integration to all our activities
  • coordinating the follow-up of the plan according to the annual management processes
  • increasing awareness and promoting Radical Creativity widely within the community
  • making sure that the theme is regularly in management teams and discussion forums and organising annual events.

You work with Aalto Leadership and community to promote the cross-cutting approach in all Aalto activities. You report in matrix to Champion for Radical Creativity Tuomas Auvinen and directly to Development Director Sirkku Linna and work in close collaboration with Aalto leadership. The position is fixed-term and ends in the end of 2024.

Your experience and ambitions

You have a deep understanding of creativity, creative industries and how to drive an innovation culture. You have experience in strategic development of organizations. We hope you will challenge our thinking with your forward-looking approach and open up new perspectives. You foster collaboration with your strong interpersonal skills and the will to work together with people. You have excellent organizational and negotiation skills. You communicate fluently in Finnish and English. You have a PhD or similar qualifications and a drive for continuous personal development.
