Education developer for wood science and technology courses

We are looking for a motivated

Education developer

Aalto University is unique and only place in Finland to study wood science, - architecture, - design and - construction. We are aiming to develop our joint teaching and strengthen co-operation between wood studies in different disciplines. The candidate will be working in a project where we will develop wood science and technology courses, develop joint teaching with wood construction (civil engineers), wood architects and wood designers. Furthermore, the candidate will apply funding for teaching activities with professors and have minor teaching duties. The position is available immediately. The position is fix term and will end Dec 2022. The position is open in the Wood Material Science group led by Prof. Lauri Rautkari. We are situated on the campus of Aalto University in Otaniemi within the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems.

Requirements

The eligible candidate should have:

  • PhD in suitable field, main focus on wood science and technology
  • Knows Finnish university education system and wood industry
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English
  • Pedagogical studies
  • Experience of teaching
  • Experience of developing education material

Skills, knowledge and abilities in the following areas are highly desirable:

  • Experience in developing online courses
  • Experience in raising funding

Salary

Salary is determined according to the salary system of Aalto University and depends on the candidate's experience.
