The Department of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering is looking for a highly motivated

DOCTORAL CANDIDATE OR POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN THE AREA OF CIRCULAR ECONOMY OF BATTERY MATERIALS

to join a multidisciplinary initiative, strategically designed to pave the way for a Circular Economy-based society. In this research project, we are looking to develop efficient recycling processes for energy storage materials, with a particular interest on Li-ion batteries.

Your experience and ambitions

We are looking for an independent and highly motivated individual with a Master’s or Doctoral degree in one of the following fields:

-       Process Engineering,

-       Chemical Engineering,

-       Environmental Engineering,

-       Metallurgical Engineering

-       or similar fields.

The ideal candidate would have knowledge of recycling operations and an understanding of the correlation between the intrinsic properties of inorganic materials and their recycling potential.

Excellence in scientific writing and publishing is expected, and good command of English is a necessary prerequisite. Knowledge of process simulation software, particularly HSC-Chem is considered an asset.

Salary and contract terms

The salary is based on Aalto University’s salary system. The contract includes occupational health care benefits and Finland has a comprehensive social security system. The position is located in the Aalto University campus in Otaniemi, Espoo.
