Aalto International Talent Program for mentors

Did you know that 25 % of our master's students and close to 40 % of our doctoral students are international? Reach this untapped potential and join us in our endeavour to make our international graduates stay in Finland.

What is Aalto International Talent Program?

Aalto International Talent Program is a group mentoring and networking initiative bringing Finnish companies, industry experts and Aalto alumni together with our international students.

The Program runs during the spring term from January to March.

What does the Program entail?

The next round will be organized in January-March 2024. You will mentor a group of 6-10 students matching your desired student profile.

  1. Sign up in by October 2023 (TBC)
  2. Select your mentees after the student applications close (mid-November)
  3. Attend mentor company briefing session December 2023 (online, TBC)
  4. Attend kick-off event in January 2024 (online, TBC)
  5. Run three group mentoring sessions in January-March 2024
  6. Organize an onsite visit in March 2024

We will provide you with a set of example topics and suggested schedule for the sessions. You will decide on the final schedule and agenda together with students.

Topics covered may include

  • Company presentation
  • Work culture in Finland and in your organization
  • Recruitment practices in Finland and in your organization
  • Other career or field-related topics and activities (e.g. R&D activities, mock interviews, personal feedback to students on CV's/portfolio/LinkedIn profile, alumni career stories)

For the 2024 round, we are especially looking for companies to mentor students in the fields or arts and design as well as engineering (e.g. mechanical engineering, built environment).
