This page has information on the social program from 2023. The social program for 2024 and its pricing will be published before the application period starts.

The extracurricular programme at Aalto University Summer School is a fantastic opportunity for course participants to build relationships with fellow students while exploring Aalto University and the Helsinki region.

The fee covers two weeks of the programme, including events from casual get-togethers to cultural excursions and exploring Finnish nature. The programme is varied throughout the summer, ensuring diverse experiences for the students who study with us for an entire month and choose to participate in four weeks of extracurricular activities.

Summer in Aalto

Example of the extracurricular programme for two weeks:

  • Welcome evening: getting to know Finland and other summer school participants
  • Cultural visit or nature excursion: visit a museum, get outdoors in the Helsinki archipelago, or do both simultaneously in an open-air museum!
  • Coffee and buns: take a well-earned breather from studies with this Nordic tradition of a social coffee break
  • Farewell event: say “See you later” to the friends you made during your time in Aalto
