Gain new friends and experience the best Finnish summer has to offer.
This page has information on the social program from 2023. The social program for 2024 and its pricing will be published before the application period starts.
The extracurricular programme at Aalto University Summer School is a fantastic opportunity for course participants to build relationships with fellow students while exploring Aalto University and the Helsinki region.
The fee covers two weeks of the programme, including events from casual get-togethers to cultural excursions and exploring Finnish nature. The programme is varied throughout the summer, ensuring diverse experiences for the students who study with us for an entire month and choose to participate in four weeks of extracurricular activities.
The social program and its pricing will be published before the application period starts.
Students who have been accepted to study on an undergraduate summer course will receive payment instructions after confirming their participation.
Is there extracurricular program during the weekend?
Aalto University Summer School doesn't organise extracurricular activities during the weekend. Most of our students prefer to explore Finland or our neighbouring countries on their own between the lecture weeks. We are always happy to share tips on what to see and do!
What if I only want to participate in one event?
The programme fee must be paid for the whole two-week session. You can choose to explore the city on your own if you wish, but the social program will help you get to know fellow students from all the different summer school courses and introduce interesting places around Helsinki and Espoo.
Do the course and programme fees include accommodation or meals?
No, accommodation and daily meals are not included. The programme fee includes set events where food or snacks are provided.
What about students in graduate summer courses?
Students on most Aalto University Summer School graduate courses have a mandatory programme fee that covers course-specific excursions and events. They are also welcome to join the undergraduate programme without additional cost.
