ReflekTori 2010 - symposium of Engineering Education

09.-10.12.2010

Plats: Koulutuskeskus Dipoli, Otakaari 24, 02150, Espoo, Finland, FI

The third ReflekTori 2010 symposium of Engineering Education invites educational practitioners, developers and researchers in engineering education to come together to discuss relevant issues in technology education, express new ideas, methods and tools to support education and to enjoy reflecting upon our own disciplines.

The symposium is organized by OTE project that aims to support engineering studies and develop teaching in different steps on study paths. Study Paths is also the main theme of the symposium: How can we maintain our competences and support focused studies and growing to become an expert in the field of technology? Workable tutoring methods, design and management of engineering syllabuses, flexible types of studies, and support for diverse learners enable smooth study paths. By disseminating best practices and proved information, we can resolve the challenges related to these issues together.

ReflekTori is a forum where people interested in developing technical teaching can meet other colleagues. The programme contains a lot of time to talk, exchange thoughts and develop new ideas further together. Theme sessions and workshops are based on participants' paper themes. In addition, the keynote speakers will tell current ideas about technical teaching as a base for discussion.

The ReflekTori symposium programme is mainly Finnish. There will be a track in English on the first day of the symposium.

Aalto University Lifelong Learning Institute Dipoli is the main organiser of the symposium. The partners are Lappeenranta University of Technology, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, University of Oulu, Saimaa University of Applied Sciences, Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Tampere University of Technology, Turku University of Applied Sciences and University of Vaasa. The symposium is part of OTE project that is funded by European Social Fund and North Ostrobothnia Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment.
