Helsinki School of Economics (HSE) is one of the schools offering what is now ranked the best Master’s degree program in Economics in the world. The Financial Times published its Masters in Management 2009 ranking, listing the top 50 Master’s programs from around the world. The ranking assesses particularly the programs’ overall internationality and the career development of the graduates.

The CEMS Master’s in International Management achieved first place on the ranking list. The program is organized by the international CEMS network, comprising 28 member schools and over 50 corporate partners. HSE has been actively involved in organizing the joint CEMS Master’s degree program from the start.

“We are extremely proud of the CEMS Program. Our students have the opportunity to study in the leading Master’s degree program in the world and receive the best possible provisions for international working life. CEMS also provides us with a valuable network, allowing us to achieve ambitious goals in cooperation with others,” says Rector Eero Kasanen from Helsinki School of Economics, who is also a member of the CEMS community’s Executive Board.

The second on the ranking list is HEC Paris, followed by ESCP Europe on third place. Helsinki School of Economics’ own Master’s program ranked 31st. The ranking concerns Master’s degree programs in Economics, which are offered mainly in Europe and Asia. MBA programs, which are more common particularly in the USA, are assessed in a separate ranking.

CEMS – The Global Alliance in Management Education is an academic community comprising 28 academic member schools and over 50 corporate partners. One member school from each country, usually its leading business school, is included. The CEMS Master’s in International Management Program currently includes about 800 students worldwide; with about 25 CEMS Masters graduating from HSE each year. The students complete the CEMS Master’s degree program as part of their university degree and CEMS courses are offered in each member school. The special assets of the CEMS Program are internationality and corporate cooperation. Each CEMS student completes part of the program in another CEMS member school.
