Professorial appointments at Aalto University

The President of Aalto University has announced five new tenure track appointments from 1 September 2011.

D. Sc. (Technology) Jussi Ryynänen was appointed Associate Professor of the Department of Micro and Nanotechnology at the School of Electrical Engineering. Ryynänen’s field of research is radio frequency integrated circuits for wireless applications.

D. Sc. (Technology) Riku Jäntti was appointed Associate Professor of the Department of Communications and Networking at the School of Electrical Engineering. His field of specialisation is radio communications technology, as well as radio resource control and performance analysis of wireless communications systems. 

As Associate Professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Computational Science at the School of Science was appointed Dr Santo Fortunato. His field of research involves understanding the structures of complex networks, dynamics of social systems, epidemiology and the structures of bibliometrics in science ("science of science").  

Ph.D. Camilla Hollanti was appointed Assistant Professor of the Department of Mathematics and Systems Analysis at the School of Science. Her field of specialisation is applications of algebraic number theory in coding theory.

As Assistant Professor of the Department of Mathematics and Systems Analysis at the School of Science was appointed Ph.D. Alexander Engström, who specialises in combinatorics using methods from algebra and geometry.
