Aalto University Executive Education Oy provides leadership training

07.04.2010

HSE Executive Education and TKK Executive School of Business, the organizations offering Aalto University’s leadership development programs, merged on April 1st 2010. The name of the new organization is Aalto University Executive Education (Aalto EE). Aalto EE will continue to offer high quality education for business executives – now on an even broader scale, taking advantage of the know-how of the new Aalto University.

Aalto EE’s mission is to build a better world through better leadership and to cultivate a new generation of leaders. The organization’s strengths are a global operating model and diverse offering. Through Aalto University, Aalto EE brings a multidisciplinary approach and novel and innovative learning methods to leadership development.

Aalto University Executive Education’s turnover for 2010 is estimated at approximately 10 million euros, and its personnel will number around 50. The organization has had a subsidiary in Singapore since 2000.

In 2010, Aalto EE will make use of new learning methods more extensively than before and will apply them in their new operations, such as the Leadership Lab, the Aalto MBA and Aalto Executive MBA programs and the AaltoJOKO program.

Aalto EE’s Leadership Lab is the cornerstone project of Aalto University’s leadership development activities. The goal of the Leadership Lab is to achieve a breakthrough in developing people’s leadership abilities. The Leadership Lab combines scientific research, hands-on application and pedagogical innovations. It is an inspiring environment for visionary thinking, stimulation, putting strategy into practice, and developing leadership. The Leadership Lab will be an important element in Aalto University Executive Education’s future operations.

Aalto’s MBA programs are based on the Helsinki School of Economics’ and the Helsinki University of Technology’s MBA programs, which were in competition with one another prior to the merger. The first MBA program to be launched following the merger is the Aalto Executive MBA. The Aalto EMBA is a high-profile training program for business executives that focuses on new types of leadership challenges and makes use of multidisciplinary studies and innovative learning methods, in line with the spirit of Aalto University.

The AaltoJOKO program is built on the strengths of the JOKO® program, which boasts 40 years of experience, and links those strengths to new theme contents. AaltoJOKO offers in-depth awareness of and insight into the multifaceted and fruitful development of the students’ and entire organization’s leadership preparedness.

As a new concept, a forum for discussion called Aalto Leaders’ Insight, aimed at executive leaders and decision-makers, will be launched in the fall of 2010. The forum gives participants the opportunity to interact and exchange viewpoints across the boundaries of different fields and, through open dialogue, will give rise to new awareness of future leadership. Aalto Leaders’ Insight draws on eight years of experience in establishing the DiViA forum network and represents a flexible and diverse service package for participant companies.
