Policy variants for coordinating supply chain inventory replenishments
20.04.2011 M.Sc. MBA Kaij E. Karrus doctoral dissertation, a set of policies has been developed for coordinating production and distribution systems. These policies are shown to produce higher lower bounds of maximum effectiveness than known policies of similar type. Thus, the additional cost from using these policies will be lower than in known policies. The developed policies can also be applied with similar outcomes to several different inventory replenishment and inventory holding cost structures within distribution systems.

28.04.2011 PhD Karolin Kirschenmann, 31, has been appointed Assistant Professor in Finance at the School of Economics. She majored in banking and finance, and she defended her thesis on April 11, 2011 at the University of Heidelberg.

Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer AMS-02 launched
29.04.2011 Aalto University Metsähovi Radio Observatory has been involved in the development of AMS-02 (Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer). AMS-02 will start operating in space onboard the Shuttle Endeavour the 29th of May.
