Aalto University to increase co-operation in the field of digital services
02.06.2010 Tieto and Aalto University are increasing co-operation in the research and innovation of digital financial management and mobile commerce. These areas are among the leading projects of Aalto Service Factory during 2010–2011. The aim of the collaboration projects is to generate high standard research and to meet the demands of trade and industry.
Aalto University continues to coordinate Cumulus International Association
08.06.2010 The Aalto University School of Art and Design will continue as the coordinator of the Cumulus network. Cumulus is a non-profit organization of 169 institutions of art, design and media from 43 countries. It is the only one in the world to serve art and design education and research.

Professor Grätzel wins the Millennium Technology Prize for dye-sensitized solar cells
10.06.2010 The Winner of the 2010 Millennium Technology Prize is Professor Michael Grätzel from Switzerland for his third generation, low cost, dye-sensitized solar cells. President of the Republic of Finland Tarja Halonen handed the EUR 800,000 Grand Prize and the prize trophy “Peak” to Professor Grätzel today at the Grand Award Ceremony at the Finnish National Opera, Helsinki.
Aalto University and Microsoft to start research cooperation
10.06.2010 Aalto University and Microsoft have launched research cooperation. The decision was sealed on Wednesday on the 9th of June in a meeting in Otaniemi, Espoo with researchers from Aalto University and Microsoft.

Rail Baltica Growth Corridor received funding from EU Baltic Sea Region Programme
18.06.2010 European Union, Baltic Sea Region Programme has approved Rail Baltica Growth Corridor of 3,6 MEUR budget for years 2011-2013. City of Helsinki is the Lead Partner and CEMAT at Aalto University School of Economics is the Coordinator of the Project. Launched in January 2011, the Project aims to improve the competitiveness and accessibility of cities and regions in the Eastern Baltic Sea Region.

18.06.2010 The President of Aalto University and the Rector of Helsinki University have appointed Professor Samuel Kaski as the new Director of Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT for a fixed five-year term.
Luukku House of Aalto University victorious in Solar Decathlon Europe 2010
21.06.2010 Having received the maximum number of points, Aalto University Finland was one of the three winners of the Architecture Prize in the Solar Decathlon Europe on 20 June 2010, with the two other winners being Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña and Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University.
