Aalto University announces several postdoctoral research vacancies
07.01.2010 Aalto University is announcing several postdoctoral research posts in the University's different research fields. The vacancies announced are in the units that performed especially well in an international research assessment. Aalto University rewards these units with a total of fourteen postdoctoral research posts. In addition, other postdoctoral tasks of different lengths are announced vacant in the rewarded units.
Aalto University celebrates its opening on January 8
07.01.2010 Aalto University is celebrating its opening on Friday 8 January 2010. The celebrations will be visible in Helsinki’s city centre in the afternoon when a procession of the University’s guests relocates from Finlandia House to the Museum of Modern Art Kiasma. Due to the procession, special arrangements will be implemented concerning the traffic along Mannerheimintie.
Traditions were observed and new things created at the opening ceremony of Aalto University
08.01.2010 The official inauguration of Aalto University took place in Finlandia Hall and Kiasma on 8th January 2010: traditions were honoured while, at the same time, something new and unique was being created.
Professor Kalevi Ekman selected as the ‘Otaniemi Person of the Year 2009’
15.01.2010 Professor Kalevi Ekman from the Aalto University School of Science and Technology has been awarded the title of ‘The Otaniemi Person of the Year 2009’.
