M.Sc. Muhammad Imran Asghar will defend the dissertation “Stability issues of dye solar cells” on 18 May 2012. This thesis work highlights the key issues resulting in the degradation of dye solar cells (DSCs). Stable solutions are provided for flexible metal based DSCs. In addition, a new method based on image processing was developed to study the performance and lifetime of DSC. Other degradation issues related to the manufacturing processes are also investigated with an improvement of 50% higher efficiency in large area cells.
