The Luukku House in the Solar Decathlon

The Luukku House will take part in the Solar Decathlon competition in Madrid. The Solar Decathlon is a worldwide competition for universities to design and build a prototype solar powered energy house producing more energy than it consumes on a yearly basis.
The competition takes place between the 18th and 27th of June 2010, during which time the house will be open to the public for viewing. In Madrid we will display and demonstrate the technologies and construction techniques that are utilised in our house.
The Luukku house aims to embody a long tradition of Finnish timber house construction.
The project is realised by the students of Aalto University.
