The opening ceremony of Aalto University

The official inauguration of Aalto University takes place in Finlandia Hall and Kiasma at 14 pm on 8th January 2010.
The speakers at the opening include, in addition to the President of the Republic of Finland Tarja Halonen, Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen, Aalto President Tuula Teeri and Chairman of the Aalto University's Student Association Jussi Valtonen. The idea is to make the launch a part of the society around, and its main elements are fire, light and video.
