Dissertation in the field of Networking technology, Árpád Drozdy
The title of thesis is ”Evolution of Mobile Backhaul”.
In the past few decades, wireless networks have evolved at an astonishing pace. Concealed from everyday users, the fixed network providing connectivity to the base stations—the backhaul network—has kept up with this. Innovations on the radio interface have led to challenges and solutions on the backhaul. This doctor-al defence shall elaborate upon the most strenuous challenges of mobile back-haul and the corresponding solutions, starting from third generation systems and ending with future fifth generation systems. These challenges include backhaul for femtocells, efficient transport of small packets, simultaneous transmission from multiple base stations, and self-deploying backhaul for future networks. Extensive results obtained from simulations shall be presented.
