M.Sc. (Tech.) Ville T. Turunen will defend the dissertation “Morph-Based Speech Retrieval: Indexing Methods and Evaluations of Unsupervised Morphological Analysis” on 24 August 2012. The thesis studies methods for information retrieval from speech data. Subword-based methods are found to improve retrieval results compared to traditional word-based methods.
