M.Sc. (Tech.) Ville Viitaniemi will defend the dissertation “Visual category detection: an experimental perspective" on May 9th, 2012. The thesis experimentally compares ways of implementing a system for visual category detection, and demonstrates that such a system can be used for addressing a variety of visual analysis problems.
