M.Sc. (Tech.) Johan Groop will defend the dissertation “Theory of Constraints in Field Service: Factors Limiting Productivity in Home Care Operations” on May 4th, 2012. The dissertation examines the applicability of the Theory of Constraints to field service. The study explores the mechanisms and core problems that inhibit the ability of home care providers to make better use of current resources. The dissertation further explains why capacity shortages occur, and the caregivers are subject to stress, despite the fact that productivity is low.
