Tuula Teeri, President of Aalto University, at the opening of the academic year: World-class status is achievable through commitment and cooperation
01.09.2010The first opening of the academic year at Aalto University was celebrated on 1 September 2010 at the Aalto University School of Economics. The opening ceremony in Töölö was attended by approximately a thousand students and staff members, as well as friends of the university. In addition, students and staff members at other Aalto University campuses throughout Finland were able to watch the opening ceremony via live broadcast.
Aalto Professor Risto Nieminen: an appointment recognising our research efforts
27.08.2010A nanoscience seminar arranged in honour of Risto Nieminen, the first Aalto Professor, attracted an audience of more than one hundred people to the Dipoli Conference Centre at Otaniemi in Espoo on 27 August 2010. The event was opened by University President Tuula Teeri, who illustrated her address with examples from professor Nieminen’s career and thanked him for his outstanding research work.
