Cooperation with alumni

Who is an alumnus?

The word alumnus is Latin for pupil or protégé (alumnus, alumnae, alumni).
The Aalto University alumni include all those who have earned a degree or studied at Aalto University or at the Helsinki School of Economics, the University of Art and Design Helsinki, Helsinki University of Technology or their predecessors. In addition, the Aalto University alumni include the former exchange students of the universities mentioned above.

The Aalto University alumni are Aalto-educated pacesetters of society. They are responsible and independent experts with broad perspectives, brought together by the Alumni Relations Office which also keeps in contact with them after their graduation. The alumni network furthers interaction and multifaceted long-term cooperation between the University and its alumni.

Resting on the backbone formed by the Aalto University strategy, the Alumni Relations Office aims at establishing a constructive spirit among the university community, its alumni and the surrounding society and wants to foster active cooperation between the Aalto University community and its alumni.

The alumni network of Aalto University is an active and established part of the community and plays a central role in the student/enterprise cooperation of the University, as well as the development of education and research activities, thus producing added value for the University and the alumni. The alumni activities aim at a lifetime partnership between the University and the alumni.
