Tenured or Tenure Track Professor Position in Process Automation and Control
The position can be filled on any level of the Aalto Tenure Track system from Assistant Professor to Full Professor.
The professorship is expected to respond to the challenges of next generation process industries in close connection with other fields of chemical engineering and various process industries.
The research and teaching activities of the professorship are expected to make a significant contribution towards safe, efficient, sustainable and economic processes and production systems through systematic methods of analytics and optimization at various scales from plants to systems of systems. In particular, the field of the professorship covers process dynamics, control and automation, merging the process operations and process analytics with holistic approaches such as process systems engineering as well as connected plants concepts.
A successful candidate is also expected to create links from chemical engineering and process control to relevant disciplines such as industrial internet, cyber-physical systems, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and measurement technologies.
Throughout their careers, those in the academic tenure track system are expected to exercise and guide scientific research, to provide related higher academic education, to follow the advances of their field, to participate in service to the Aalto University community and to take part in societal interaction and international collaboration in their field.
Applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree in a relevant field.
The applicants will be reviewed on the basis of their research work, teaching and academic leadership and activity in scientific community.
