Tenure track position in Information Systems Science which will be filled on Assistant Professor level.
The position is located in the Department of Information and Service Economy, which consists of three disciplinary areas: Information Systems Science, Logistics, and Management Science. The department offers bachelor’s and master's programs in Information and Service Management. The doctoral program in information systems science has about 12 doctoral students enrolled. There are currently about 36 faculty members at the department, of which 11 are in the Information Systems group. The Department appreciates an active approach to international research collaboration and business co-operation. Both are supported by our current faculty and Aalto’s multidisciplinary collaboration platforms for research and education of the Aalto University. We look for candidates with cross-disciplinary interests whose work complements the research of our faculty, which spans from information systems development to open data, digitalization, business models and platforms. Throughout their careers, those in the academic tenure track system are expected to exercise and guide scientific research, to provide related higher academic education, to follow the advances of their field, to participate in service to the Aalto University community, and to take part in societal interaction and international collaboration in their field.
The applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching, mentoring graduate students and to developing and maintaining an active program of sponsored research. Applicants must hold a PhD in Information Systems, or a closely related field. Candidates must demonstrate promise of excellence in research through international top-level publications (e.g. AIS basket of journals) and the ambition to become an excellent teacher.
The selected candidate is expected to conduct and supervise research in Information Systems, to provide university level teaching, to follow and contribute to the advances in the field internationally, to participate in service to the Aalto University community and to take part in societal interaction.
